The flow switch also contains a thermistor that senses water temperature.

The water temperature is used for the salinity calculation.

If the thermistor is failing the salinity will be incorrect.

Flow switch has 3 wires on cells manufactured after September 2018

Green wire not used on cells made after 2018
Red Wire – flow switch
White – temperature sensor
Black – common

Green wire no longer used on Intellichlor cells after 2018

The IntelliChlor uses the Harwil Q-12DST-C2 flow switch.

It has an integrated 10k ohm thermistor for temperature sensing. When the sensor fails and the software detects failure, it defaults to a standard temperature of 77 F

Per the manual included in the box for the 520736 switch:

Flow Switches manufactured before September 2018 are four wires, switches manufactured after September 18th are three wires.
Three wire switches will work with four wire cells but four wire switches will not work with three wire cells.
Three wire cells were manufactured after September 2018.
